In Ireland Brigit was called Mary of the Gaels, for she was the mother goddess of the Gaelic peoples. Here we see her with her signature blue veil, which represents the vastness of the sky. Brigit was often invoked at a well with a tree growing up from it.
In this picture the well is a nest of eggs, symbolizing new beginnings after a difficult transition. Life is full of transitions; some are painful, and some more graceful.
